Super powers


Super what? Super food, yes it is a magical super delicious way of adding extra healthy vitamins, proteins etc to your mealplan. Super foods, a concept that has become a hype but what are they exactly? I have made a short list of the top 5 super foods anybody can easily add to their diet. Feel free to comment below if you have anything to ad.

Chia seeds

They consist of omega-3, tons of fiber, anti oxidants and more proteins then any other protein product. They carry more calcium than milk, 15x more magnesium than broccoli (anti stress) and 3x more iron than spinach..hence the SUPER part!! 

Wheatgrass

They contain of more than 100 traces of minerals, improve digestion, purify blood, help utilizing body fat, increase energy and help colon problems. It consists of more than 30 beneficial enzymes, enzymes help improve the overall health functions of your body. Resolves skin problems, fights deceases, reduces grey hair and dandruff. There are numerous wheatgrass powder benefits. It's a live plant and you can use it in any kind of way such as pills, powder etc. Try using it in your smoothie! It will turn green, but then again it's a super natural substance.

Cacao powder

This is one the best super foods from nature. Because it contains a unique composition of nutrients, it helps against high blood pressure, both Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine studies use the powerful superfood cacao powder. Try mixing a teaspoon through your oats, or protein pancakes with raspberries…its delicious!! next to eating cacao, try a cacao body wrap at your spa. You will smell like chocolate for days and your skin will be baby soft again.

Maca powder

This is a root growing in the Andes mountains of Peru. Many peruvians have used this plant for it's medicinal purposes. The root is packed with nutritionally-rich substances and contribute to a healthy balance to your daily diet. It contains over many different mineral deposits such as vitamin C, bit B1,B2,B3,B6,B12 and calcium. It is also known to improve ones libido. The plant has exclusive sense of balance of proteins, carbs and anti-oxidants. You can integrate your powder into shakes, smoothies and fruit juices or even soups!.

Goji Berries

These are great berries for your health, it's great to strengthen your resistance, they carry antioxidants, minerals and improve your apetite in a healthy way. They help prevent stress and play a positive roll for ones mood, this is why they are also called the ‘happy berries’.

Coconut

Coconut!!! is such a delicious ‘fruit’? well it's actually a gigantic seed from a tree. Coconut contains a great content of Kalium which is super healthy. They work detoxing and help to maintain a healthy blood pressure. Coconut contains a great number of fatty acids, so it's a great source to cook with (use coconut oil, les calories as well.) Coco is good for dry skin and hair…what can i say? it's COCOFANTASTIC!!

Hemp Seed

And last but not least Hemp Seed: Hemp seed is originated from Central-Asia they consist of plenty of nutritional substances, unlike the other substance originated from Hemp, Marihuana, Hemp does not have any psychoactive side effects. They contain loads of protein, essential fatty acids, gluten free. You can also use this powder or the seeds through your recipes or smoothies.
Now we know a little bit more of the origin of super foods, super foods is an ancient knowledge passed on by centuries of medicinal people. It's the fashion statement under healthy food, it's hip and sounds awesome! I know i have joined the super food hype how about you???!!!!
You are what you eat. So don’t be fast, cheap, easy and fake.


Recipe

20 min. in total, for 2 persons


Ingredients

Chia Pudding
4 tbsp chia seeds
1 cup almond milk
Pinch vanilla powder

Acai Smoothie Layer
1 tbsp acai powder
1 cup fresh strawberries
1 ripe banana
1 tbsp almond butter
2 tsp unsweetened desiccated coconut
3-4 fresh mint leaves
¼ cup almond milk
*Optional: 2 tsp bee pollen (use hemp hearts for the vegan version)

Fruit Layer
Fresh mixed berries, mashed with a fork to obtain juice and chunks (i used strawberries and blueberries)
To Garnish: fresh fruits, bee pollen (*optional), coconut flakes, mint leavesr

Instructions

Add the chia seeds, almond milk and vanilla powder into a medium bowl, mix to combine and set aside for 15 minutes, until the seeds absorb all the liquid.

Add all the smoothie layer ingredients into a blender and process to obtain a creamy mixture.

To assemble the jar add half of the mashed fruits, then a layer of chia puding, top with acai smoothie and garnish with fresh fruits, bee pollen, mint leaves and coconut flakes.
Proceed the same with the second jar, then serve or lid the jars and pack to go
